Behind the Scenes of Senior Spotlight

In Room 2125, our Publisher’s Workshop class has been getting to work on our special yearbook section : the Senior Spotlights! Our class collected a handful of the most impressive and interesting seniors to highlight and interview.

Upstairs in our “newsroom,” backdrops, cameras and interview seating was set up to welcome our seniors.

This process was especially special for all of our Bear Cubs (an endearing nickname for the members of this class). Rebecca Post, a senior, noted that she was “so grateful to be able to talk to [her] fellow classmates and learn more about their personal passions and inspirations that [she] wouldn’t have known otherwise. My classmates are so cool!” For Junior Bear Cubs like Anika Bahirwani, they was excited to talk to seniors because “they gave good advice [she] could use next year!” Overall, speaking to all the spotlighted seniors was insightful and gave us a look into what the Class of 2024 is passionate about.

After pictures were taken and interviews were had, the Bear Cubs got to work adapting this information into a format for the yearbook. This year, we saw that music came up often as an important part of the high school experience for a lot of seniors and felt that a Spotify Wrapped theme would best represent that. Junior Teesha Patel says, “I had so much fun putting together the page, it felt really special especially when so many of our seniors gave us songs that were important to them.”
