Come to the Health and Wellness Fair!
The first EBHS Health and Wellness Fair will take place on January 28th from 12 to 2 p.m. in the cafeteria.
Amid the stress of midterms (and those forgotten New Year’s Resolutions), it’s easy to get caught up with life and neglect things like health and wellness. Most anyone could use a reminder of what it means to be healthy, both in mind and body. Junior Sarah Kincaid says, “I think it’s important to make time for health and wellness because you have to balance out all the things you do; you have to make sure you’re not rushing yourself and taking things so far that you can’t handle the stress.”
That’s why on Tuesday, January 28th from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., EBHS will be having its first Health and Wellness Fair located in the school cafeteria. The goal of the fair is to provide educational information to support a healthy lifestyle, break down stigmas, promote inclusion, and provide access to a variety of community and school resources.
Representatives from local gyms, mental health providers, nutritional establishments, and other individuals who promote wellness within the community will be present to answer any questions attendees may have. With their help, the fair will provide East Brunswick students, staff, and residents with the resources they need to build healthy habits.
In addition, clubs from the high school will be on hand to help educate the community on a wide variety of topics including cultural awareness, dating violence, coping skills, substance abuse awareness, and preventative care with medical access.
Anyone from the community can come to the Health and Wellness Fair. There is no fee to attend. Food, giveaways, and raffle prizes will be offered, and late buses will be available. Bring your friends and celebrate the last day of midterms on a positive note!
