She is a firefighter and has been working toward the goal of fulfilling her passion and becoming a Fire Captain to help everyone she can. As a first responder and someone who risks her life to save others, Brianna is someone to look up to.

Q: WHAT ARE YOU MOST PASSIONATE ABOUT?

A: I am most passionate about helping others and being a first responder. I also love all things Disney and visiting the parks.

Q: WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN YOUR LIFE THAT HAS SET YOU APART FROM YOUR PEERS?

A: In my past I have been through several hardships, especially during the transition from elementary school to middle school. I was hospitalized for a very rare disease shortly before starting Hammarskjold, I had to overcome my fears of starting a new school with new people but more importantly going to school with a PICC line (a specific IV for prolonged use of antibiotics) which was scary at the time because I was afraid of what people would think of me.

Q: WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS?

A: In 10 years I can picture myself still living in New Jersey and as a firefighter captain, as well as a health care provider. I can see myself traveling a lot, I want to go to Europe and the last few states I haven’t seen yet, but most importantly I’ll travel to Walt Disney World very often, especially when I have a family of my own.

Q: WHAT MADE YOU BECOME A FIREFIGHTER?

A: My father was a Fire Captain in Newark for 31 years, I practically grew up in a firehouse, so I always knew I wanted to follow in his footsteps. It’s definitely shaped me to who I am now because I finally found my passion, and it’s helped me become more confident and outgoing.

Brianna stays a hard worker in both school and her job as a firefighter. No matter where her future leads her, Brianna will always be helping others. Thank you, Brianna, for keeping us all a little safer!
