Another start to the school year, and another fantastic season for the lady bears volleyball team. Undefeated in their division, and winners of the General Middlesex Conference Finals, the 2021-22 girls volleyball team has proven that they are a force to be reckoned with.

Paige Anania, 12, is the second woman in EBHS history to reach a record 500 career kills. She, along with fellow seniors Hailey Benesz, Ysabella Sapienza, and Alanna DeCunha, led the Varsity team to 24 consecutive victories with their incredible skill and great leadership. Hailey Benesz is proud of “how the team was able to build [their] connection over this season in order to accomplish everything [they] did.” The Varsity Girls Volleyball team is proof that hard work and focus can make all the difference.

After an impressive season, the Lady Bear’s took their final stand on the court with an unfortunate loss to Williamsburg in the State finals by only a point. The loss was a bittersweet ending to an incredible season but with great coaching and a hopeful outlook on the future of the team, next season is definitely something to get excited about.
