Out of the Comfort Zone, into the End Zone

The Bears working hard

The Bears come out strong as they enter the field with confidence holding the EB flag.

For many football players it’s a chance to go back to the game after practicing and training all summer break. 2021 has been one of the best years for the team; they made it to the state playoffs for the first time since 2009.

Though the Bears started with one loss they had a comeback with an 8 game winning streak for the rest of the season. Coach Steinfeld is “most proud of the way the 2021 Football Team, when they lost the first game of the year vs. Old Bridge came back and worked even harder to win 8 straight games. The 2021 team had goals they wanted to accomplish and worked hard all season to reach those goals.”

One of the major highlights for the EBHS football team this fall season was the game against South Brunswick. Going in the field in all pink socks for breast cancer awareness and having all the training and excitement from the past games, they dominated the game finishing with a score of 34 – 7.

With the season coming to an end, the 2021 team set the bar high up for the 2022 team. Coach Steinfeld’s words: “This team opened many eyes of teams in Middlesex County. I challenge the 2022 team to continue what the 2021 team started, becoming a playoff team every year. We need to continue to GET IT DONE!!!”
