Q: HOW HAS A POWER DRILL SHAPED YOUR PERSONALITY IN IMPORTANT WAYS?
A: Using a drill has made me feel more empowered as a person. I have always liked hands-on projects but when I discovered what I could make with a drill and other power tools I fell in love. Woodshop became a hobby I was very passionate about and I was lucky enough to intermingle my love of woodshop with my love of theater by working my way up to become the headmaster carpenter for Drama Club. I find it so rewarding and empowering that I am able to build things, like the Drama Club’s sets, that bring purpose to a situation and are able to help in one way or another.
Q: WHAT IS YOUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE?
A: I hope that I will be able to teach those around me about Psychology and Sociology and it will allow people to better understand each other. I think that if people learn to understand and listen to each other in rational ways instead of acting in ways of violence, stubbornness, and dehumanization than society can learn to coexist and function with each other in a more peaceful and meaningful way. Going forward I wish to pursue a career in Psychology, hopefully being able to teach my own college course in the future. I also hope to minor in social work so I can directly aid those who really need it.
Q: IF MONEY WERE NOT A CONCERN, WHERE IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO TRAVEL AND WHY?
A: If I were given the chance to go anywhere I think I would most want to go to France. I’ve been taking French for the past seven years and hope to retain my knowledge of the language throughout my life. I think that being able to communicate with others throughout the world is a beautiful thing and by doing so in French it will not only help me improve my own speaking abilities and comprehension of the language but also connect me to other people in the world that I would not have if I did not know the language.
