New Year, Same Clubs
October 6, 2022
High school gives us the chance to explore newfound passions and ideas that could lead to a fulfilling career. As, Junior, Neiman Baquer said, “The more exposed we are as students to possibilities the more likely we are to find a true passion for ourselves.” Extracurriculars are a key factor in helping students not only express their ideas, but connect with new people who share the same passions.
EBHS has a number of extracurriculars, from The Future Business Leaders of America to International Club, that cater to students and their diverse passions. Each club creates an interactive experience to gain more insight into the real world and or, a fun environment for other students to enjoy. Model UN members participate in multiple conferences to prepare for their possible future surroundings, while Asian Night hosts bubble tea events and karaoke nights open to the whole student body.
The ability to join any club, and explore new found interests opens up new perspectives at a time when many in the world around us aren’t actively seeking ways to broaden their understanding. Huseina Basrai, the vice-president of EBEFSA explains that, “EBEFSA helps get everyone involved in the community to come together and give grants to those in need. I think that’s something I would want to do in the future, not even career wise but just on the side.” Students may join a club because it is beneficial to their future career, or simply because they enjoy it.
