Hustle, Hit, and Never Quit
EBHS field hockey did not come to play!
After an almost undefeated season with a record of 18-1, the East Brunswick field hockey team made history. It takes hard work and determination to achieve greatness, and the team did just that. For the first time in over ten years, the field hockey team pulled out an incredible win against South Plainfield and earned the title of GMC Division Red champions.
One of the team captains, Natalie Arnold, explained how she was “so proud of [the] team for accomplishing our own goal of winning the GMC championship.”
However, the team would have never been able to accomplish all that they did without the team camaraderie they formed. Sophomore Anna Sawicki described the team as “a group of well rounded, supportive, and determined athletes.”
As hardworking as the team was on the field, they always had time to slip in some fun while off of it. Anna Sawicki recalls a joyful memory she had on the bus on the way home from a game: “blasting music on the bus ride home in the dark is always so much fun.”
It’s safe to say that the team loved being in each other’s company not only on the field, but off of it as well.
With such an impressive record, the field hockey team made it clear that the key to a successful season is not only dedication, but teamwork as well.
