Q.WHAT CLUBS/ACTIVITIES DID YOU PARTICIPATE IN AT EBHS? WHY?
A.Acting as Co-Fundraising Chair for Senior Class Council is definitely the role I’ve dedicated
most of my time to at EBHS. I loved that I was able to work alongside other executive board
members to plan special events for our class. Homecoming was always one of my favorite events
to prepare for. I initially joined class council to meet new people and become part of a club that
helped our entire class, and after three years I can say that I believe I was able to accomplish this
goal.
Q.WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO AS A CAREER? WHAT EVENT TOOK PLACE IN YOUR LIFE TO DETERMINE YOUR CAREER CHOICE?
A.I hope to have a job that I love, and although I am not completely certain about what that job will
be, creating my own business or working in the field of television production are options I am
considering. Since I was young I’ve always wanted to set goals that would not only be rewarding
but also require me to work hard, which is something that creating my own business would do. I
have also recently taken on a volunteer opportunity that has taught me how to film and stream
video recordings to YouTube, allowing me to learn a lot while also sparking my interest in the
film and television industry.
Q.WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN YOUR LIFE THAT SETS YOU APART FROM YOUR PEERS?
A.Since the moment I moved in kindergarten, I’ve spent a majority of my life traveling back and
forth from Long Island to East Brunswick. While this means that many of my Sunday nights
were spent driving over the Verrazano bridge while studying for a test the next morning, it also
means that I was able to live two completely different lifestyles. While East Brunswick is where
I’ve had my amazing school, support system of friends, and amazing opportunities, Long Island
is where I’ve been able to learn about my family’s Portuguese heritage and meet others from
hundreds of different walks of life. With the next chapter of my life approaching, I’m excited to
take on the challenge of weaving together my East Brunswick and Long Island lives with the
new ones I’ll meet in college.
Q.WHAT IS YOUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE?
A.I want to go to a four year college and study business, majoring in either entrepreneurship or
marketing. I hope to find myself working in a busy city such as New York, here I’d constantly be
pushing myself out of my comfort zone and working towards my goals. I also hope to travel and
see the world, volunteer and make a difference in people’s lives, and live in the moment as
opposed to worrying about the future.
